
Mandaini was born at the Santoshpuri Ashram as the eldest daughter of Baba
Santosh Puri and Narmada
Devi Puri Ma. She grew up in the ashram surrounded by devotees and saints. She learned from Babaji the art of cooking and serving others. Mandakini has been cooking in the ashram for over ten years. Mandakini also learned to cook by studying Ayurvedic Cooking books. She serves the ashram by helping maintain organization, assisting visitors with Karma Yoga, tutoring the children and teaching asanas to them once a week. She also teaches ayurvedic cooking.
Mandakini holds a Masters degree in Commerce from Gharwal University. For four years, she taught children (ages 6-12) at the Bhagirathi Vidhyalay and Maa Anand Mayee Memorial School, where she attended as a child. Mandakini completed 108 hours of study in the Clinical Yoga Course in December 2005, at the ashram. She studied pranic healing from the World Pranic Healing Foundation. In the future, Mandakini plans to deepen her studies of Yoga Science to further serve the ashram. When she isn't serving in the ashram, she likes to take care of the garden.
